Tartalmi kivonat: | With my diploma work I intend to show how a narrative can be analysed using S. Freud’s “Beyond the Pleasure Principle” as the basis. I will use Peter Brooks’ essay: “Freud’s Masterplot”, which is based on the above mentioned work. I will analyse J. D. Salinger’s: “The Catcher in the Rye” as the perfect example for “Freud’s Masterplot”. By the end ofmy thesis I will reach the point where I will talk about why we read books several times over again. I will also give my opinion on how and why “The Catcher in the Rye” can be used in the course ofEnglish Language Teaching. I chose the motto “The aim of all life is death” from S. Freud. I will follow the meaning of this statement while analysing the narrative “The Catcher in the Rye”. This is why I would focus on the meaning of repetition and the meaning of end. With all these things in my mind I will devote one chapter to S. Freud’s psychoanalytical approach. |
