The introduction will present some facts in short that show the importance of the Black Death and the changes it accelerated. The second chapter will describe the nature of the plague mentioning the characteristic features of its three types. The third chapter is going to be about England before the pestilence. It will describe the general state of economy and society. The fourth chapter will discuss the date and place of the arrival of the disease in England. The fifth chapter is going to show us the marching of the Black Death, presenting data about the clergy and its flock. It will also mention some lost villages of the age. In the sixth chapter will address some aspects of life in England at that time, such as education, war and building. The seventh chapter is going to deal with the demoralisation of the Church and the common people during the Black Death. The eighth chapter will present the toll in lives, discussing it in terms of age groups, social classes and in the different dioceses. The ninth chapter will discuss the horrors and panic of the plague years. It will talk about the grief of the people and the riots that followed it. The tenth chapter will show the effects of the Black Death. I will try to highlight the changes it accelerated. The eleventh chapter will present England after the Black Death. In the conclusion I would like to emphasise the significance of the years of the Black Death. |
