Tartalmi kivonat:My thesis is about the alcohol prohibition, the "noble experiment" in the 1920s in the United States. Prohibition was part of the American life during the early twentieth century to regulate everything that harmful to the community. They wanted to stop drinking alcohol. It sounded ideally. But the laws they made interfered into the American's private lives. Many citizens paid no attention to the law. The nation prepared to enter upon a permanent "alcoholiday". But prohibitions were naive in the extreme. They overlooked the strong American drinking tradition, and the weak control, especially private lives. The nation have tried -unsuccessfully- to ban or severely restrict liquor sales. In this country prohibition led to an era of illegal liquor sales, speakeasies and gang warfare among bootleggers. There were more bad effects than good ones.
