Tartalmi kivonat:Native speakers seem to be as of less importance than Hungarian English teachers in Hungary. Still, native speakers' work and help in ESL teaching is essential. Eoth of them are highly needed in Hungary since the differences between a native speaker and a non-native speaker make them equal in language teaching. Having a native speaker is beneficial for students' oral skills; while a Hungarian English teacher can teach them all those things that a native speaker knows subconsciously, for instance grammar. A great advantage and disadvantage of a Hungarian English teacher is that s/he knows the students' mother tongue; but a native speaker does not normally know/speak Hungarian. Native speakers are not strict, and there are less homework or testpapers at their lessons. Students still learn from them; however, they learn mainly subconsciously at these occasions. Hungarian students of ESL need both a Hungarian English teacher and a native speaker in order to learn English effectively.
