Tartalmi kivonat:Currently the intercultural communication is getting more and more important place in our life. In international businesses and in politics but also in our private life, foreign language skills are essential and they help us to understand other countries and cultures. These are the main reasons why my research paper is concerned with the role of integrating target language culture into language teaching. I would like to prove that teaching a foreign language and the culture of the country in which this language is spoken are both essential in language classes. I will highlight the importance of learning culture when learning languages. By this, I will present the relationship between language and culture. In order to make it more understandable I will also show the differences between the British culture and other cultures. I also would like to show that cultural content of foreign language teaching does not only mean to teach about history, literature and geography of the foreign country, though they are important part of the culture but only a small part of it. A part of the study will be devoted to how the cultural awareness of the students can be raised and how their attitudes can be changed towards language learning by learning about the target culture. At the end of the study I will show the cultural content on the basis of one series of coursebook widely used by students in Hungary.
