Tartalmi kivonat:This thesis examines the teacher's personality as one of the most powerful external motivating factors in the teaching - learning process. Using the results of a classroom research conducted among primary school pupils, attending 5` hand 8thgrades and teachers of different subjects, I will prove that the teacher's personality itself has the power to motivate learners, has a defining role in the teaching-learning process and that certain personal characteristics are of vital importance in motivating learners and in effective, successful teaching. Making a comparison between the opinions of 5 thand 8`hgraders and between the opinions of the teachers and the pupils, I will demonstrate that despite their different age and their different points of view the results reflect slight differences. Fundamentally, teachers and pupils possess nearly identical needs, demands and expectations as far as the teacher's personality is concerned.
