Tartalmi kivonat: | This thesis examines the parents' role in motivation as a factor affecting students' attitude to the foreign language. Since the 1996 modification of the Public Education Law parents have an opportunity to choose a target language for their children. Using a questionnaire I will demonstrate reasons families take into consideration making their decision about language learning. I will prove as well that parents prefer English because of its usefulness and that this language serves for them only as a means of the advancement of their children's future career. This aim can hardly be a stimulating force for little children to learn a language with pleasure so it is the teachers' job to make their English lessons not only useful but enjoyable as well. |
