| Tartalmi kivonat: | In the landscape of disinformation in Latin America, one network has remained largely unexamined—the influence operations of Bashar al-Assad’s Syria. This presentation will shed light on this underreported phenomenon, mapping the web of actors, strategies, and narratives actively disseminated. Through several investigative techniques, the use of the QA method, and a two-year study (2022–2024) of online communications, I unveil how this network operates, who promoted its agenda, and what narratives it intended to embed in the region. The presentation will conclude with compelling insights and empirically relevant findings that contribute to a deeper understanding of disinformation campaigns orchestrated by authoritarian states. |
