Tartalmi kivonat:Over the half-century history of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, many public criminals have been hanged in Hungary, although after the 1878 tightening of the law, the courts have imposed this type of punishment in significantly fewer cases, or if they did, the convicted person could expect a good chance of a later commutation of his sentence, or in the last resort, a pardon from the King. In this paper, we present two crimes and three of their perpetrators who were executed in the city of Szekszárd.
