Die Flecke des alkoholischen E x tra k te s der zu prüfenden S ubstanzen au f F ilterpapier W h atm an № 0 w erden m it P etro läth er auseinandergezogen; dabei b e trä g t der R f W ert des B ourbonais das D oppelte des Vanillins. Zum E ntw ickeln erwies sich als Sprühreagens salzsaure H ydrazinsulfatlösung am geeignetsten. A uf dem entw ickelten C hrom atogram m sind die Flecken des V anillins wie auch diejenigen des Bourlponals zitronengelb un d im U. V. L ich t gelbbraun. The chrom atographic m ethod proved to be suitable for th e detection of vanillin an d bourbonal in th e presence of each other (in pow derized sugar arom atized b y vanillin an d in other food preparations). On developing th e ethanolic solution of th e substances to be exam ined b y petroleum ether on W hatm an № 0 filter paper, bourbonal show ed R f values over th e double value of th a t of vanillin. As a developing spray, a hydrochlorich acid solution of hydrazine sulphate gave b est results. The spots of b o th vanillin and bourbonal on the developed chrom atogram s were lem on yellow in daylight and yellowish brow n in u ltrav io let light. |
