Tartalmi kivonat:After the foundation of the state the official and written language of statecraft and law was Latin. Hungarian terminology was late appear, though basisc formulas were long present in our language, mainly from the oral litigation. Native legal language gaine new momentum due to the Enlightenment. This process coincided with the neologism, the „codification” of the Hungarian literary and public dialect. Introducing native language terminology meant the development of Hungarian vocabulary and the elimination of alien expressions. Unification of Hungarian terminology was advanced by the publication of more then thirty legal vocabulary, officer’s dictionary, glossary and other works developing Hungarian legal words. Development of legal terminology was not only the precondition of turning into a nation, but social, economic and political modernization was also establihed by the modern legal life and vocabulary and conceptually, was developed to the early 20th century in Hungary.
