Tartalmi kivonat:Despite the strengthening of consumer aspects in the modern economic life and in the so-called „consumer society", the relations between consumer protection and the criminal law don't have rich literature in Hungary, and the scientific work is really marginal on this field. In this situation, a need is raising, to look for principles, which establish a direct substantial connection between consumer protection and criminal law. The author gives the main features of consumer protection law in general (II), afterwards she handles the essentials of any criminal regulation, namely the possible limits of the protection, which are determined by the protected interests (III). In this paper, the author treats in Chapter IV the current privisions of the Hungarian Criminal Code (Act IV of 1978), which could be labelled as the Consumer Protection Criminal Law (§ 292-294 Marketing of Substandard Products; § 295 False Attestation of Quality; § 296 False Marking of Goods; § 296/A Deception of Consumers) and demonstrates that the interpretation and the application of this rules is very diverging what calls for more theoretical research and a complex approach on this field.
