Tartalmi kivonat:The history of the Mariavite movement is an interesting chapter of Hungarian Old Catholicism. The Mariavite movement was also present along with Old Catholic ecclesiastical traditions enhanced by Bishop Viktor Kubinyi (1873-1966) and Bishop Vidor Deák (1883-1954). As a matter curiosity, the priests associated with the Mariavite Old Catholic Movement in the 1940s and Bishop Tamás Fehérváry later broke away from the Mariavite spiritualism established in 1893 by Feliksa Kosfowska (1862-1921) in Poland, and instead the Old Catholic character was emphasized. This study gives forth data to the Hungarian history of Mariavite Old Catholics based on archives and newspaper reports. The organizing ecclesiastical work of the Mariavite Bishop Tamás Fehérváry - originally called Gyula Csemohorszky (1917-1984) - between 1939 and 1947 is discussed, along with the ecclesiastical activity of Lajos Thury (1903-1974) abbot, and Ferenc Ambrus (1914-1990) Old Catholic priest in Szeged.
