Tartalmi kivonat:The subject of the article is an unusual lithographed publication - presumably circulated as samizdat - produced in the second half of the 1940s, probably in 1946. It is the Haggadah, the ancient Jewish text read by the members of the Jewish community in their homes or gatherings on the first two evenings of Pesach, the Jewish Passover. Illustrated Haggadahs of the past 700 years bore the imprint of the age and circle in which they originated. The unique volume analysed here, published by the former Haoved Hakibbuci Dror Habonim B'Hungaria, is similar in this respect, it may have been an agitprop publication of the Zionist movement that was being reorganised after the war. The publication was planned in three parts but the research focused on the first section, the classical Haggadah texts as the ancient texts were combined with contemporary variants reflecting Zionist ideology.
