Tartalmi kivonat:Most of the chapels in the settlement were erected in the second third of the 19“' century by members of Catholic and Orthodox noble families that intended to rest in peace at these places. In the chapels, there are significant pieces of art like Mór Than's altarpiece depicting the LastJudgement, as well as the icons of Uros Predic. Several wealthy families erected public statues, crosses or roadside crucifixes. Most of them were made of sandstone and some of them of marble. They were made by local or county stone carvers. Some of them are characterized by baroque-like motifs. Flower stems ending in lilies are recurring motifs on crucifixes. The Orthodox and Catholic sacred monuments have had their influence on each other and their stylistic similarity is noticeable. Their stone carvers were often the same masters. They often hired the same stone carvers. At the end of the 19lh century and at the beginning of the 20lh century, there were several articles in the press about the maintenance, renewal, festivals and donations of these monuments as a gesture of goodwill. As a result of the 1990 religious revival, their role in the life of the settlement has changed.
