Tartalmi kivonat:The aim of this publication is to summarize the results of EU development programs related to the Hungarian-Slovakian border region and to outline the objectives for the upcoming period. The first development program was the PHARE CBC preaccession fund, which in 1995 it was firstly realized as an Austrian-Hungarian-Slovak tripartite, later only Hungarian-Slovak bilateral program. The PHARE CBC program aimed to encourage the join of Slovakia and Hungary to European Union. After their join to EU, during the shortened programming period in 2004-2006 in the frame of INTERREGIIIA, they were announced the Hungarian-Slovak-Ukrainian (HU-SK-UA) Neighbourhood Programme and as well the 2007-2013's HU-SK cross-border bilateral co-operation programme. In July 2016, it was announced the first call of proposals in frame of new INTERREG V-A SK-HU programme with deadline up to 3rd November 2016, excluding of continuous call for second priority axis related to cross-border infrastructure investment projects. During the implementation of the programs, the euro regions have not played yet a significant role, but the formed EGTCs standing over cross-borders regions can boost the integrated development of the border regions.
