Tartalmi kivonat:There are few heads of state who have been canonized in the Catholic Church. Those who became worthy of being canonized, had brought the blessings of faith and peace to the communities entrusted to them. King Charles, who ruled over an obsolete empire, was a monarch with youthful ideas, little experience but great enthusiasm. In a shallow society, he was a husband and father with a deep, living faith in God and love for men. He was decades ahead of his time. Not even the long years of Communist totalitarianism could suppress people's interest in King Charles. His beatification, ten years ago, gave a strong impetus to his veneration. We had the honour of placing the reliquary bust containing one of his ribs in Saint Stephen's Basilica in Budapest. Relics of his bone fragments are preserved in the village of Nagymizdó, in the memorial chapel of Cirák, in the Benedictine abbey of Tihany, in the royal chapel of Gödöllő, in the parish church of Baja, in the episcopal chapel of Szombathely, in the cathedral of Oradea, in the parish church of Gyöngyös, and in the Franciscan church of Zalaegerszeg. New sites of the veneration of King Charles include Körmend, Máriaremete, Carei (in Transylvania) and Sopron. Blessed Charles is venerated in nearly all the important places in Hungary that are related to his life.
