Tartalmi kivonat: | There are few and fragmentary sources about the Hungarian Old Catholicism’s veneration of saints. The veneration of the Blessed Virgin and Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament had a central function in the original polish mariavite Old Catholic movement, which had been present in Hungary. “Praised to be the Blessed Eucharist!” was the greeteing of the old catholic mariavites. The content of the old catholic cult of saints can be concluded primarily the patron saints of their religious communities and institutions (Holy Trinity, Sacred Heart of Jesus, Blessed Eucharist, The Blessed Virgin, Immaculate Conception, Saint Thomas, Saint Augustine, Holy Family, Saint Rita). The author of the study used archi-val documents (from the Episcopal Archives in Szeged and from the Hungarian Baptist Archives, Budapest) and the manuscriptal letters of Rev. Ferenc Ambrus (1914–1990) former Hungarian Old Catholic canon in Szeged. |
