| Tartalmi kivonat: | The Central topic of this work is a Romanian popular custom called „Calusul” and the theories formulated during the time regarding its origins and role. The „Calusul” (Horseman) is a male dance with a specific step, executed on specific music once a year. The presentation of the dance is related to a religious celebration, most often to Whitsuntide, but in some areas to New Year’s Eve. The reason why I chose this topic is because the „Calusul” was registered on 24 November 2006 with the approval of te UNESCO on the list of Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritages of Humanity. |
