German-language literature in Hungary, however, is in need of renewal. A thorough analysis and rethinking of the traditional schemes of thinking about and writing contemporary German-language literature in Hungary is inevitable, provided this literature is intended to be more than just a showcase of minority politics, and wishes to find its way to audiences. Literary sociology should provide the foundations for the process of rethinking. With this paper, the author wishes to contribute to the process of laying such foundations. |
