Tartalmi kivonat: | The short story is generally recognised as the most predominant and most unique Southern literary form, since it is more capable of describing the reminders and fragments of a once coherent culture. Three southem writers and three short stories are analysed in this paper and their common, as well as distinct characteristics are surveyed. By investigating themes, setting, symbolism and narrative techniques in short stories by Katherine Anne Porter, Andrew Lytle and Elizabeth Spencer, various degrees of blending tradition and modernity can be pointed out. |
