Tartalmi kivonat:Nowadays, metal detector researches are coming into prominence more intensively which results more metal objects and coins. In Hungary, more and more civilians are joining the research. The collected hoards are mostly stray find, because they cannot be linked to context, but they are not remnants in the sense, that the artifact is calibrated during the going-over, and it draws a scatter image on a map. Because of that the research works with a rather broader methodology. In Hungary, the number of illegal "treasure hunters" is high, which overshadows the research, as many interesting findings may disappear. More and more volunteers join in the metal-detector researches, who are engaged in metalwork and whose instrumental professionalism can be beneficial for future archaeology. As an archaeologist student, I consider similar programs and initiatives important, as we have the opportunity to study the discovered finds on the spot, to learn the documentation, and even to get to know the metal detector itself, a great opportunity to build relationships and learn from each other.
