Tartalmi kivonat:Although the NET generation (X, Y, Z) is being critisized, some relevant questions are raised concerning the education of talented students. Being a secondary school teacher I would like to be prepared for the challenges caused by the so called “Alpha generation” who grew up with digital and cyber technologies. Their eye-hand coordination is excellent but the development of their hand muscles is slower. Their ability to share attention is stronger, but their concentration decreases, the attention span and their immediate response reaction strongly works in them - Z generation has been given the nickname “the super now”. To develop the abilities of such students we should involve kind of methods which are filled with content and children suffering from infomania are trained to accept, select and process it. Instead of keep searching in a world of few questions - enormous amount of answers they should be trained to look for specific information. It gives food for thought that according to a survey conducting in 2015 the duration of a human attention fell from 12 to 8 seconds while the goldfish pays attention for 9 seconds.
