Tartalmi kivonat:Tomato is one of widely cultivated vegetable food crops in the world, because of its significant importance in human nutrition. Late blight is a serious tomato disease caused by Phytophthora infestans, which could lead to complete crop loss. The aim of this paper was to analyse the content of bioactive compounds in leaves of tomato genotype Bizon and their connection with late blight infection rate. It was found that at the beginning of late blight infection plant generated a high amount of polyphenols and flavonoids, but their concentration and antioxidant activity were reduced with the increasing rate of infection. Statistically significant differences (p<0.01) were observed between infection rate and sampling date as well as in their interaction on the measured biochemical parameters.
