Tartalmi kivonat: | In her study the áuthor tries to give a definition of elliptical sentences. First she clears up the relation of nón-constructed, constructed and elliptical sentences, suggesting that elliptical sentences form a type of constructed ones. Then she proves that not only a missing predicate or subject, but the omission of any sentence element (i.e. object, adverb or possessive attribute) may result in elliptical sentence if the part missing belongs to the minimal construction. The second part offers statistical figures abo ut the freqúency of elliptical sentences and missing: elements in different types of Hungarian texts; claiming that the complete (compound) sentence and, the context should also be considered when analysing an elliptic construction. |
