Tartalmi kivonat:In the spring of 1793 the Austrian army fighting revolutionary France in the battlefields in the Netherlands and by the Rhine took an increasing number of French prisoners of war, who were deported mainly to the castles and barracks of Lower Hungary. Several of them kept diaries and took note of events around them. Napoleon's future general, Jean-Perre Dellard was also held as a prisoner in Diakovdr; in his memoirs he devotes two chapters to the story of his captivity. In his description of the route of the deportation and the everyday life at Diakovdr he also briefly comments of the contemporary conditions in Hungary.
