However, in almost all counties the pre-trial detention of juveniles is used routinely and not a last resort. The first and the most direct consequence of the excessive use of pre-trial detention is prison overcrowding. This study including themes: legal regulations concerning the maximum length of detention, age limits for imposing pre-trial detention, accommodation and conditions of detention, educational measures, vocational training, work, physical and psychological consequences of detention on children. |
