Tartalmi kivonat:The saluting study for Professor Cseka Ervin 90,h birthday has chosen 'confrontation' as a topic because there hasn't been any comprehensive monographs published in Hungary focusing on confrontation as an evidentiary procedure. Professional articles and studies on the topic are of modest quantity and they were published mainly in the 1970s and 1980s. In addition the writer would underline the following facts: a) It is a complex institution that covers the aspects of forensic science and criminal procedure law as well. b) Scruples about its theoretical grounding may arise asking whether it is the right way of seeking the truth. c) Being an institution frequently applied in practice it has critical results and has significant number of difficulties and problems. d) It can be the engine or the brake of simplifying and speeding up the procedure of uncovering the truth. The study shows the main statements, conclusions (from several aspects) of the research on confrontation and demonstrates a special 6-level (basic principles, subjects, proofing, coercive measures, separated and special procedures, EU) pyramid model about the Hungarian criminal procedural legal science from 1960 to 2011 which includes the authors of the current monograph and their works as well.
