It is the novel of Jane Austen entitled Pride and Prejudice. With the help of it I want to examine the importance of impression, opinion and real knowledge by which we make judgement on people. First of all I would like to give some definitions of impression of some famous philosophers and show what it means in the fields of art and literature, but it is not only theirs what I take into consideration but I also try to write about the interpretation of an everyday person on this issue. In the second part I would like to characterise and show the qualities of the heroine called Elizabeth Bennet. She is considered to be the most admired and respected character by Jane Austen. In the last two chapters I intend to show the advantages and the danger of relying on first impressions and judging a person only by them. I want to examine the first impressions of the heroine which always influenced her very strongly in making opinions and statements about people through the novel. First I would like to write about her misjudgements and their consequences and then I intend to examine her correct formation of opinion of people and its results. In the appendix I would like to show a picture of Jane Austen and some illustrations about Pride and Prejudice. | |
