The first two chapters consider the history of Internet and presents its applications in connection with the possibilities they offer for English teaching, mainly focused on writing skill. Chapter 3 describes a research which is based on the survey of teachers and their 17-year-old secondary school students in Békéscsaba. The last chapter summarises the strengths and weaknesses of the Net as a language learning tool and concludes that notwithstanding its drawbacks the Internet is a true asset to the English language classroom.
