Tartalmi kivonat: | This thesis examines the theoretical background of vocabulary enlargement in L2, especially with regard to recording vocabulary, which fosters a long-term retention of the elements of vocabulary both for passive and active vocabulary of the L2-learner. . This paper shows that not each recently used method of vocabulary recording helps L2-learners to improve their knowledge because of its insufficiency of giving information about the vocabulary item's interconnectedness with other elements of the vocabulary of a foreign language. Using recent results of recent studies I will demonstrate that vocabulary notebooks in their form as lists of L2-L1 pairs of words cannot help L2-learners either discover and build up the L2 system of vocabulary in their mental lexicon or make use of the memorized words when speaking or writing, using their active skills. |
