While organizing the national guard and the army, Hungarian leadership continued to use the sound signals and the principles of using musicians utilized by the Austrian imperial military to accelerate training, and to have a more unified organization. While Hungarian forces faced a constant shortage of musicians, as well as difficulties in acquiring instruments during the war of independence that started in response to the policies of the Austrian government, they succeeded in using trumpeters as the basis of their military communication and transmitting orders. | |
