The methodological question is how to relate the semantics of the quasi-copula 'sit' to the material culture surrounding the speakers of the lan–guage. To this end, the methods of cognitive linguistics will be employed. First, I will try to identify the image schemas that serve as a background for the formation of the characteristic meanings, and then I will try to infer the relationship between the image schemas and the material culture. | |
