I briefly review the belief-elements and belief-systems which are covered with the term eco-spirituality by the scientific literature, and which compose important parts of the contemporary ecological discourses and of the eco-conscious way of life movements. After that I present the types of religiousness of Hungarian ecovillages. Among the Hungarian ecovillages we can find communities connected to specific religion or church (Krishna-valley, Visnyeszéplak), but the majority of them don't determine, don't regulate the religious commitment of the inhabitants, they handle it as an individual business (Galgafarm, Gyűrűfű, Nagyszékely). However it is common in all of the ecovillages thatthe inhabitants give the interpretation of the protection of nature spiritual aspects, and they feel common faith is crucial for the proper function of the community.
