The sources connected to the work of Rufinus de Cibinio, Raymundus de Bonofato, Jacobus Berengarii, Jacobus de Lengres, Galhardus de Carceribus and Petrus Gervasii were published in the series Monumenta Vaticana at the end of the 19th century. Hungarian historians mostly concentrated on the tax collection between 1332 and 1337, however, numerous aspects of the collection have remained obscure. A good example would be the commission of Bonaiutus de Casentino, papal scriptor and canon of Aquileia sent by Boniface VIII to Hungary, Bohemia, Poland and Moravia in 1301 to collect the tithe imposed by the Second Council of Lyon. Although his name is mentioned by some of the Hungarian historical works, and the registers of a few sources referring to him were published in the first and second volumes of the Anjou-kori Oklevéltár, his work as a tax collector has not been examined yet in depth. The aim of this paper is to systematise and analyse the unknown or less examined sources of the tax collection and place it in the career of Bonaiutus de Casentino.
