Tartalmi kivonat: | The present paper introduces the circumstances of the birth of natural beautiful. It analyses the history of landscape painting from Chinese paintings through the masters of early Netherlandish painting to the idealised landscapes inspired by the Italian scenery, with special respect to the works of Claude Lorrain. It was Lorrain’s art that created the basis of picturesque, which appeared as a special aesthetic category in the 18th century England and it created a bond between various art forms (painting, poetry and horticulture). Besides this, the picturesque started to form the taste of the 18th and 19th centuries, and its influence is still detectable. The paper also presents the most important characteristics of the two basic types of European horticulture. |
