| Summary: | One of the prospering fields of international text-image research is the examination of the intermedial relationship between illustrated literary works and their iilustrations. Taking into consideration the latest issues in this discipline, and assuming interdependence between the verbal and visual media in the process of interpretation, in т у paper I intend to look at Béla Balázs’s Bluebeard mystery play and János Kass’s iilustrations, in the light of the dual processes of reading and looking. I examine mediai overlaps and the processes of differentiation, mainly from the point of view of the representation of inner space and the dialogic/apostrophic relationships between the characters. |
