Description
Summary:Nowadays, the aridification of the sand ridges between River Danube and River Tisza is one of the most serious environmental problems. It is caused by natural, social and economical factors. The major sign of unfavourable changes to the natural environment is aridification of natron lakes on the sand ridges and the transformation of their vegetation. This paper examines the changes of the vegetation of Szívós-szék and Szappan-szék near Fülöpháza in the last twenty years, seeking for correlation with the depression of the groundwater level and climatic data. The paper tries to find an answer to the following question: How and to what extent can climate change contributes to the transformation of plant associations?
