Description
Summary:There are different regions in Hungary with almost ethnically homogenous population, while others are with very mixed population. The same is the situation in case of religions. This paper tries to measure the ethnic and religious diversity of the population in Hungary with the application of diversity indices. In the twentieth century both the ethnic and religious diversity of the Hungarian population became less characteristic. Counties with the largest ethnic diversity are Baranya, Tolna, Nógrád and Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén, while the largest religious diversity is in Békés, SzabolcsSzatmár-Bereg and Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén.
