The theory has been popular since the classical age of sociology, and it is a proper tool for the analysis of different social phenomena. In this paper the author examines the relationship of religious communities and deviance. The different communities' have different teachings and value systems about the social world. The paper examines the effects of these teachings and values systems on social integration. It closely analyses somé particular religious communities to find evidences for deviations from social accepted norms. The author proposes that these deviations from social norms could be used to create typologies of religious communities in a multidimensional way, rather than use the conventional two dimensional typologies. The author proposes religious social capital as a social theory that can serve as the basis of a typology. The paper examines the religious communities in the environment of religious pluralism, where different religious communities can peacefully coexist. | |
