On the one hand, it is seen from the point of the speaker's competence in construing texts and his tendency to build in information as succintly as possible. On the other hand, it is his partner who is viewed from the point of the following: depending on the characteristic features of the partner's age and education (including the peculiarities of the genre), to what amount does he need and endure the condensed convayence and adoption of information. This twofold approach is maintained by the simultaneous analysis of both the new sixth class text- -book in physics, and of the texts written by sixth class pupils during lessons in physics. The tables and examples given above suggest that it is worth paying attention to the clearer grammatical comprehension of any school-book in physics, chemistry and biology. However, it is the linguists duty to provide the specialists with the necessary support. Studies of this kind are important for the linguist's own research, as well. A systematic linguistic evaluation of a given representative sampling may take into account in a more realistic manner those components and relations, the connection of which the linguist wishes to reveal with the aid of a computer. | |
