Tartalmi kivonat: | The paper classifies the ultra-short non-analysable sentences on the basis of their dominant speech-function: expression, order or description. The characteristic form class for these sentences is interjection; however, other word classes also appear within ultra-short sentences, such as nouns, verbs and sometimes adverbs or adjectives. One type of non-analysable descriptive sentences, consisting merely of a noun,"are often considered as elliptical ones. The author points out the difference between el'liptical and non-analysable sentences and claims that the two types - in spite of their likeliness in appearance - should be .- strictly distinguished, from each other, because they are different in their function, aim and origin. Thus there is no reason to investigate what parts of a sentence these independent nouns are. As they form a sentence alone, they can be taken neither for subject nor for predicate. Their role in the sentence is similar to that of sentence-words or interjections. |
